How to Set up and install DAP- 1650?

First you need to select the mode to configure DAP 1650.

For the Dlinkap.local setup  DAP-1650 Wi-Fi Repeater Total we have three modes to set up D-Link DAP-1650 Wi-Fi Repeater.

• First is Extender Mode
• Second is Access Point Mode
• Third is Media Bridge Mode

IF you want to configure DAP-1650 with Extender Mode then follow the below steps:

• Power on your Dap- 1650
• Connect  your Desktop/ laptop to any port on the back of the DAP-1650
• Next, open the web browser and enter the IP address of the DAP-1650 into the address bar. ( if you don’t know IP address then enter this Ip address- default IP is http://192.168.0.50 or http://dlinkapnet.net)
• You have to choose the DAP-1650 setup wizard webpage and click on next to start the process.
• Go to Wireless Mode select Extender and click to next button.
• After doing chosen extender create a new wireless network and password for your New Extended network.
• Dap- 1650 scan your area for wireless signals. (Select your wireless signal which you want to extend and click on Connect
• If the wireless signal which you want to extend is Security enabled, enter its wireless security password and click on the Next button.
• Now, enter a new administrator password for the DAP-1650.  (default password is <blank>)
• Review further your all setting and click on Finish button to finish the process

Dap-1650 Will saves and reboot, applying your new settings. Setup is complete with Extender Mode.

Important- Make sure you are placing your Dap-1650 in an area that has a good signal to your Existing Wireless signal/router. Because DAP needs a good signal from your surviving router in order to correctly extend your signal.

Access Point Mode 

Before moving to the Access Point mode, first read the important note.

Note- When you are trying to configure DAP-1650 in Access Point mode, you have to disable or turn off the wireless function on the router to prevent interference or confusion when connecting to your upgraded wireless signal.

Come to the Points: 

• Power on your Dap- 1650
• Connect  your Desktop/ laptop to any port on the back of the DAP-1650
• Next, open the web browser and enter the IP address of the DAP-1650 into the address bar. ( if you don’t know IP address then enter this Ip address- default IP is http://192.168.0.50 or http://dlinkap)
• You have to choose the DAP-1650 setup wizard webpage and click on next to start the process.
• Go to the Wireless mode->access Mode->Next.
• Click on the Next to start the setup wizard process
• Create new wireless Network Username and password  for your device
• Enter an administrator password that you are created for the DAP-1650.  ( Default Dap-1650 password is <blank>)
• Select the time Zone and click on Next button
• Lookout setting again, confirm it and click on the finish button.

Dap-1650 Will saves and reboot, applying your new settings. Setup is complete With Access Point Mode.

After Completion the Whole process tries to connect again your DAP-1650 into your router or existing network.

Media Bridge Mode 

For The media bridge Mode, follow the below steps carefully:

• Power on your Dap- 1650
• Connect  your Desktop/ laptop to any port on the back of the DAP-1650
• Next, open the web browser and enter the IP address of the DAP-1650 into the address bar. ( if you don’t know IP address then enter this Ip address- default IP is http://192.168.0.50 or dlinkap.local login)
• You have to choose the DAP-1650 setup wizard webpage and click on next to start the process.
• Go to the Wireless mode->Media Bridge->Next.
• Dap-1650 automatically scan the available network
• After scanning, choose the Wireless network you want to bridge and click Connect
• In case, the wireless network you intend to bridge is security enabled, then enter its wireless password and click on the next button.
• Enter an administrator password that you are created for the DAP-1650.  ( Default Dap-1650 password is <blank>)
• Confirm your all setting once and click on Finish button

Dap-1650 Will saves and reboot, applying your new settings. Setup is complete With Media Bridge Mode.

Setup is Complete and get your connection again.
